We build hydraulic hose assemblies on site — 2-wire, 4-wire and 6-wire — cut to length and crimped in front of you. Bring in the old hose, or bring the fittings and a length, and we’ll match it.

What we build
A parts counter, not a mail-order spec sheet
You bring in a hose — blown, chafed through, or just worn out — and we build the replacement while you stand at the counter. We cut hose to length from stock, fit the correct ends, and crimp them on our own machine. There is no shipping wait and no minimum order.
This page is about hose assembly, which is done while you wait. If the cylinder itself needs rebuilding, that is a separate job we also do in-house — normally a day or two rather than over the counter. We don’t diagnose or repair the pump or the machine the hose came off of.
The range
2-wire, 4-wire and 6-wire — and what each one is for
The wire count is the reinforcement built into the hose wall, and it is the biggest factor in what the hose can handle. Most counters stop at 2-wire braid. We build all three.
2-wire braid
Two braided wire layers. The most common construction on smaller ag equipment, mowers, and general-purpose hydraulic circuits — the everyday replacement hose.
4-wire spiral
Four spiral wire layers for higher-pressure circuits. Common on construction equipment, skid steers and mobile hydraulics that work braided hose harder than it is built for.
6-wire spiral
Six spiral wire layers, built for the most severe-duty lines — the main pump and cylinder lines on heavy construction and mobile equipment.
If you’re not sure which one you need, bring the old hose in. The construction and the fittings on it usually tell us.
Before you come in
What to bring
- The old hose, both ends attached. This is the fastest route — we can measure it and match the fittings directly.
- Or the two fittings, if the hose is gone. If the hose burst, rotted away, or you cut it off already, bring the fittings from each end.
- The length you need. If you don’t have the old hose to measure, bring the length — see “how to measure a hose” below.
- A photo, if you can’t get in. Send a clear picture of both ends and we can often tell you what we need before you drive over.
What we need to know
To match it correctly
- Hose size. The inside diameter of the hose, not the outside — this is what the old fittings tell us.
- Fitting style at each end. Thread type and size, and whether the end is straight or bent (a 45° or 90° elbow).
- Overall length. Measured fitting-face to fitting-face, not just the hose in between.
- What it connects to. Which end goes to the pump, cylinder, or valve, if the two ends are different.
Practical guide
How to measure a hydraulic hose
Length. Lay the hose out straight — not stretched, not coiled — and measure from the very tip of one fitting to the very tip of the other. That fitting-to-fitting number is the overall length we build to, not just the length of hose in between.
Diameter. Don’t guess the hose size by eye. The fitting size and thread on each end tells us the correct hose inside diameter to use — that’s why bringing the old fittings matters even more than measuring the hose itself.
Fitting orientation. Note whether each end is straight or has a bend, and which direction the bend points relative to the other end. Get this wrong and the new hose won’t route the same way the old one did.
If you can only bring a sample. A short cut piece of the hose plus one fitting, along with a measured length in inches, is usually enough for us to work from.
